Unquestionably Walter Smith has fashioned a team more boring than a Dremel. But it works and hey, it’s good for Scotland’s Euro co-efficient. They played well in Portugal but something says it could be a touch more inspiring.

Barry Ferguson’s booking for kicking the ball away was, well, daft.

But, of course, the major contribution was from a Hibby, Steven Whittaker’s goal was nearly as good as Theo Walcott’s set up on Tuesday night.

Nevertheless, I cheered them on with gusto and I hope they can outdo Celtic’s Sevillian failure.

How magnanimous Mark. Begrudging praise for the boys in blue (albeit most of it reserved for an ex-’Cabbage’ starlet). Pray tell, when are you being measured up for your apron and sash?

The boy would regularly go on these runs for us but I cannot recall one occasion when it didn’t end up in at least row W.
